TEAMS RAISE MORE THAN $44,000 FOR EPILEPSY OTTAWA AND OTTAWA FIRST RESPONDERS FOUNDATION
OTTAWA, ONTARIO, CANADA, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2026 – Mass Electric emerged as the ultimate champion of the 2026 Ottawa Fire Truck Pull , capturing the Best of the Best title following an electrifying head-to-head showdown on Saturday, September 26, in Ottawa’s ByWard Market. The event brought together teams from across the region in a celebration of strength, teamwork and community spirit, raising more than $44,000 in support of Epilepsy Ottawa and the Ottawa First Responders Foundation.
Presented by the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation (ODBF), the 2026 Ottawa Fire Truck Pull marked a historic edition of the event, taking place on York Street as part of the Bytown 200 celebrations and in partnership with Nuit Blanche. The move to the heart of the city provided a distinctive setting for the competition, where teams of ten went head-to-head, pulling two Ottawa Fire Services trucks weighing more than 10 tonnes each over a 100-foot course.
With every second counting, the competition delivered a series of impressive performances before culminating in the Best of the Best final, where Mass Electric secured the ultimate bragging rights with a winning time of 14.36 seconds against Full Throttle 92!, which finished in 15.74 seconds.
MASS ELECTRIC CLAIMS BEST OF THE BEST CHAMPIONSHIP
In a dominating performance, Mass Electric secured the 2026 Best of the Best Ottawa Fire Truck Pull championship, capping an exceptional day that also saw the team capture the Open Division Community Challenge title with a time of 15.06 seconds.
Full Throttle 92! claimed the Shawn Mathieson First Responder Challenge championship with a time of 15.67 seconds, earning its place in the Best of the Best final, while Hose Before Bros took top honours in the Women’s Division Community Challenge with a winning pull of 17.58 seconds.

While speed and strength were on full display throughout the competition, the Ottawa Fire Truck Pull recognizes that the event is about much more than the fastest time. The Best Overall Team award celebrates the combination of team spirit, fundraising achievement and pull-time performance, recognizing the teams that excel across every aspect of the event.
TEAM SHREK earned the distinction of Best Overall Team in 2026, demonstrating an outstanding combination of competitive performance, charitable fundraising and team spirit.
Smokin Hot Grass was recognized with the Best Team Spirit award, while Capital Ghostbusters earned the Most Charitable Team title after raising an impressive $8,063.94 in support of the event’s beneficiaries. Smokin Hot Grass followed with $3,551.73, while TEAM SHREK raised $3,534.01.
These awards recognize the commitment and generosity of the teams whose contributions extend well beyond the competition course, reinforcing the event’s purpose of bringing people together to make a meaningful difference in the community.
PULLING TOGETHER FOR TWO IMPORTANT CAUSES
The 2026 Ottawa Fire Truck Pull has raised $44,367 in support of Epilepsy Ottawa and the Ottawa First Responders Foundation, with online fundraising continuing until midnight on September 30.
Funds raised will support Epilepsy Ottawa, the only organization in the region dedicated to providing education, advocacy and support for more than 10,000 people living with epilepsy and their families, as well as the Ottawa First Responders Foundation (OFRF), which provides critical mental health and resilience resources for first responders, veterans, retirees and their families.
The generosity of participating teams, individual fundraisers, sponsors and community supporters continues to demonstrate the power of bringing people together in support of causes that touch so many lives. Every pull, every donation and every act of encouragement contributes to the collective impact of the event.
A HISTORIC SHOWDOWN IN THE HEART OF OTTAWA
The 2026 Ottawa Fire Truck Pull brought a unique sporting spectacle to the ByWard Market, joining the Bytown 200 celebrations and Nuit Blanche Ottawa/Gatineau in recognizing Ottawa’s history, creativity and community spirit.
The head-to-head format, introduced in 2025, continued to deliver exciting matchups, with two teams and two fire trucks competing simultaneously. The format brought an added level of intensity to the competition, engaging spectators as teams demonstrated their strength, coordination and determination in pursuit of the championship titles.
